Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice on pruning Pieris Katsura. Any tips you've got would be much appreciated!
This plant is a breeze to prune. Just do it in late spring or early summer, and use clean, sharp tools for those precise cuts. If you see yellowing leaves or damaged growth, go ahead and prune it right away. And don't forget to give it a good watering after you're done, to help it bounce back and encourage new growth. ๐๐
My tip is that you can slowly cut off the flowers that are wilting before they produce seeds to improve the appearance of my plant and encourage a second bloom.
Actually, this pruning process is optional because it also depends on your taste. If you want the shape to be very unique and neat, then do regular pruning.
I would suggest not pruning too much. If your plant is stressed, it might not grow anymore.
